Babes In Arms Retreat

“I wanted a space that i could go with my new baby so i could enjoy some yoga, sisterhood and time in nature without leaving my baby.”

Babes in Arms

Crossing the threshold into Motherhood is sacred and in modern sociey it can be lonely at times.  This retreat was put together so that you can still enjoy the joys that existed before your baby was born, surrounded by a small circle of women and you don’t have to leave the baby behind.  Why not immerse yourself in the English countryside and take time to connect with you in your new role as a Mother, ground yourself in your body and rest deeply through yoga nidra, honour your sacred body and celebrate all that you are following birth.

There is so much focus on the baby but how about you Mumma, are you treating yourself like the goddess that you are? My retreat has been created so that a small group of pregnant women can arrive on a Friday afternoon and enjoy a weekend dedicated to blessing you as a future or next time Mother, to celebrating all that you are through rest, nurture and deep nourishment.

If you are a pregnant woman, first, second-time mother, wife looking for a place to rest, recuperate and rejuvenate then this retreat is just for you.  I use yoga nidra as the main focus of rest which is much like a lying down meditation and induces deep rest, even sleep.  This is practiced twice a day in my yurt in a wild flower meadow.

This magnificent space in nature awaits you along with a small circle of other women. Based on the border of East Sussex and Kent, just 6 miles from the ancient town of Rye and the vast sand dunes of Camber Sands beach.

“Cat led us in the Yoga Nidra, and accompanied us on our swims and walks, with such compassion and grace and created a profoundly warm and safe space.

I left feeling centred, grounded and calm with a treasure trove of funny memories. I can not wait to go back!”

What can you expect?

Connection through sisterhood

The saying goes, ‘We may not have it together but together we have it all’ – I believe there is no greater power than a group of women together, let alone pregnant goddesses. The group is kept small and no more than 8 gather so to create a cohesive group of feminine souls that together can unite and connect and form bonds that take you through your days as a Mother.

Nourishment through food

Organic, homemade food is the basis of our menu to fill you up with nothing but nourishment and vitamins to feed both you and your baby. Homemade bread, smoothies, juices and granola for breakfast, rainbow salads and soups for lunch, while vegetarian curries and stews warm your cockles before bed. Herbal teas, oat cookies and moist carrot cake on tap when you need a pick me up.

Meditation in nature

Time in nature where we connect with the original Mother is paramount to our connection to ourselves as a Mother.  We visit the local sandy beach and while walking might feel a little too much, we gather in meditation and encourage a wild dip if it calls you!  Take in the sea air on the dunes of Camber Sands or wonder along the scenic canal in Appledore – either will no doubt fill up your well and awaken your spirit.

Yoga Nidra for Self Healing

This retreat is all about R & R and to ensure you receive the deepest, most nourishing rest your day will be top and tailed with restorative and relaxing yoga nidra. Depending on how far along your pregnancy you are, i will help you get comfortable on your side or back with an abundance of pillows to prop up bumps! Simply lie down and let me take your mind and body on a journey of deep rest.

Adorn a crown & share your heart

We gather together and create time to sit in circle to share what fears or feelings you might have ahead of your birth and journey to Motherhood.  A safe and held space is created so you are heard while creating a floral crown to honour who you are and what you are birthing.

Flowers to calm, heal and express our deepest emotions

Upon arrival ,departure and each morning you will begin your day with a warm flower bath to cleanse your energy and absorb the healing benefits of the hand-picked flower petals.

Let’s celebrate you

What better way to to celebrate your body with an artistic embellishment (temporary of course).  We enjoy your very own Mother Blessing Ceremony where you and your baby get celebrated, heard and honoured through sharing, creating and adorning you just like a goddess!

Relax in nature

Be held by Mother Earth in the heart of a wildflower meadow in a womb like yurt. It is the ultimate escape for the hum-drum of life.  This space brings you deep connection to the rich, abundance of nature.  Bring your womb in to this womb-like structure, as you are held in the womb of Mother Earth.

“I can’t even begin to explain what this weekend has done for me.

In short, I arrived, anxious, tired, and a bit lost and in just one weekend I came home lighter! The things that bothered me before, just don’t! I’ve learned to deal with anything life throws at me with strength and courage and I can’t thank you enough Cat for what you have done for me. “
