This 1 hour workshop will give you tools to empower and equip you for your birth so that you can maintain body sovereignty, feel empowered and give you the best chance to get the birth you want without unnecessary trauma to you and your baby.
Birth Facts & Stats
- A large percentage of women who go into hospital healthy and considered at low risk of needing help; i.e. full term, well nourished and rested, with the baby head down and ready for labour, still experience multiple unnecessary interventions. (if they opted in to an intervention) FACT
- Overall about 1 in 8 (10-15%) births in the UK will be an assisted vaginal birth (use of instruments such as a ventouse and forceps) although this is much less common in women who have had a vaginal birth before. 1 in 3 women having their first baby will have an assisted vaginal birth. - The World Health Organisation recommends that cesarean births should only occur in about 10-11% of the population however due to the cascade of intervention, cesarean births are up to nearly 40% in the UK. (if they opted in to an intervention) FACT
- Having an intervention (an intervention being an induction, an epidural, cesarean etc.) in pregnancy or childbirth will increase your chances of having more interventions as birth progresses. FACT.
